From the City of Lights:
  1. Just try to hail a taxi from the Champs Elysee.  After giving up in frustration, give a "tip" to the concierge and have him do it.  Be sure to begin this process at least five hours before your flight time.
  2. Ask the driver to bring you to Orly.  Be polite when he actually drops you at Charles de Gaulle.
  3. Pay with Francs when the driver explains that the credit card machine is "broken".
  4. Wait patiently through 8 different lines as you are poked and prodded by French bureaucrats from multiple agencies.
  5. Any airline that will get you to San Diego is acceptable, but we recommend US Airways because you can avoid New York, Chicago, and Atlanta.  Stop in Pittsburgh, not Philadelphia.  You will find the Pittsburgh airport incredibly clean and spacious and the personnel friendly.  The Philly airport is, well, entirely forgettable.  Try to travel on a Sunday in the fall and catch the Steelers on the lounge TV in Concourse B.
  6. From San Diego Lindberg Field, find your way to Grape Street and from there to I-5.
  7. Follow the directions for San Diego.

Be sure to pick up some of our fine art souvenirs from local Cardiff-by-the-Sea artisans.  The French natives will appreciate your cultural contribution.

Bonus tip:  while in Paris, be sure to spend a Friday or Saturday evening at the L'Arbuci Jazz Club on the Rue de Buci on the Left Bank.  There, you will enjoy the magnificent Nivo and the Serge Rahoerson Group, as well as the fine food.  You will not be disappointed.
